Michael Ray has shared a music video for "Holy Water" filmed at his hometown church. "Holy Water" is a song from his 2021 album, Higher Education.

The lyrics were co-written by Nashville songwriters — Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson, Hunter Phelps and Hardy.

Speaking about the inspiration behind shooting the music's visuals at an old church in his hometown of Eustis, Florida, Ray said, "As soon as I heard the first verse, I was like, 'I have the church for this music video.'"

"My dad grew up there. My grandpa grew up going there. It's been there for generations and generations," he added.

The characters featured in the video are part of that church or part of the community in real life.

"There are two actors in the video: The preacher is an actor, and one of the deacons. The other deacon is my cousin; the one with the beard is actually my cousin Lee," Ray explained.
