Shares of entertainment and dining venues operator Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc. (PLAY) are down more than 9% Wednesday morning following its decision to acquire Main Event Entertainment, Inc., owned by Ardent Leisure, for $835 million.
Main Event, a family entertainment brand, operates more than 50 centers offering bowling, laser tag, hundreds of arcade games and virtual reality.
Upon closing the deal, which is expected later this year, Main Event will continue to operate as a distinct brand under Dave & Buster's, Main Event said.
PLAY is at $42.22 currently. It has traded in the range of $29.83-$52.54 in the past 52 weeks.
