Halsey covered Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" at their Governors Ball performance on Saturday night.
In fan-captured footage from the show, the singer can be seen singing, "So if I only could/ I'd make a deal with God/ And get him to swap our places/ I'd be running up that road/ Be running up that hill/ With no problems."
At the end of the cover, they told the crowd, "I just had to do it! I'm sorry, guys, I just had to do it!"
Halsey then closed out their 16-song festival set with her No. 1 hit "Without Me" and "I Am Not a Woman, I'm a God" from 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power.
"Running Up That Hill" is a song from Bush's fifth studio album, Hounds of Love. The song recently received renewed attention after it was prominently featured in season 4 of the Netflix series, "Stranger Things." Its appearance led to the song's resurgence on charts around the world, entering the top-ten for the first time in Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
"truly wish I wrote this song more than anything in the world I'm soooo happy it's having this resurgence," Halsey tweeted after the performance. "I knew immediately I wanted to do this."
