Black Sabbath legends Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi have reunited for a new single, "Degradation Rules."

The song will feature on Osbourne's upcoming album, Patient Number 9, due September 9.

Iommi spoke about his collaboration with Osbourne in a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year.

"I wrote the whole track and played on it and played the solo on it," the guitarist said. "It's really good. And I like what Ozzy sang on it. I think he did a really good job. And I think they had Chad [Smith] play drums on it."

Osbourne and Iommi last recorded together on The End, an EP of outtakes from Black Sabbath's 13 album.

The album Patient Number 9 will feature guest appearances from Eric Clapton and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready as well as session work from Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan, Jane's Addiction's Chris Chaney, and late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Ozzy had released the title track from the album last month. "Patient Number 9" was Osbourne's first new material since his 2020 studio album, Ordinary Man. The song features guitar icon Jeff Beck and was co-written by Osbourne's wife, Sharon.
