The music video for Fun.'s 2012 hit song "We Are Young," featuring Janelle Monáe, has reached 1 billion views on YouTube.
The four-minute, 12-second video, showing Fun. and Monae performing in a nightclub, was directed by Marc Klasfeld at David Sukonick Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
The lead single from the group's second studio album Some Nights, the song was released on September 20, 2011.
"We Are Young" attained commercial success worldwide, reaching number one in several countries.
This song helped propelled the band into mainstream success.
It peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks. Having sold 10 million units, it received an RIAA diamond certification.
Nominated in three categories at the 55th Grammy Awards, "We Are Young" won song of the year in 2013.
