Renewed Support Called For Singapore Stock Market

The Singapore stock market headed south again on Monday, one session after halting the two-day slide in which it had fallen almost 25 points or 0.8 percent. The Straits Times Index now rests just above the 3,255-point plateau, although it's likely to bounce higher again on Tuesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is cautiously optimistic as some traders believe the heavy selling in recent sessions has been overdone. The European markets were mixed and the U.S. bourses were up and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.
