After an early move to the downside, stocks remain firmly negative in afternoon trading on Thursday. The major averages are adding to the steep losses posted in the previous session, with the Dow falling to a three-month intraday low.
Currently, the major averages all remain in the red, although the Dow is posting a relatively modest loss. While the Dow is down 87.43 points or 0.3 percent at 30,096.35, the S&P 500 is down 30.36 points or 0.8 percent at 3,759.57 and the Nasdaq is down 172.05 points or 1.5 percent at 11,048.14.
