Metallica recently released "Screaming Suicide," the second track from their upcoming album, 72 Seasons.
The song is now available to stream and download and as a bonus with all album pre-orders.
The heavy metal band also shared a video for the track, directed by Tim Saccenti.
"Screaming Suicide" addresses the taboo word of suicide, according to Metallica co-founder James Hetfield, who said, "The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It's ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts."
"At one point or another, I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it's a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone," he added.
72 Seasons, which is the eleventh studio album by Metallica, is set for release on April 14.
An extensive M72 World Tour in support of the album will kick off on April 23, and run through 2023 and 2024.
