Rapper and singer Coi Leray has risen to No. 1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists Chart.
It was on the strength of her single "Players" that Leray became the top emerging act on the chart dated February 18.
The song, released in November via Uptown/Republic Records, made a big leap of 10 spots to reach No. 28 in its sixth week on the Billboard Hot 100, with 29.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, 9.4 million U.S. streams and 5,000 downloads sold in the February 3-9 tracking week, as per Luminate.
The daughter of rapper and media mogul Benzino, Leray released her debut studio album Trendsetter in 2022.
Samara Joy, who won the Grammy Award for best new artist earlier this month, is the second best Emerging Artists this week.
Her 2022 album Linger dominated the Jazz Albums, Traditional Jazz Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts for the first time.
The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100.
