Dropkick Murphys Team Up With Violent Femmes On 'Gotta Get To Peekskill'

Dropkick Murphys have teamed up Violent Femmes for "Gotta Get To Peekskill," a new single from their forthcoming album, Okemah Rising.

Okemah Rising will drop on May 12 via the band's Dummy Luck Music/[PIAS]. Okemah Rising is the second in Dropkick Murphys' series of albums interpreting the works of late folk legend Woody Guthrie.

"We had the privilege of collaborating with the Violent Femmes on this feisty track," says Murphys vocalist/bassist Ken Casey. "Acoustic Dropkicks sounds a lot like the Violent Femmes in my opinion, so the collaboration is musically and symbolically fitting. And singing a song about fighting the Ku Klux Klan is always extra fun."

Violent Femmes frontman Gordon Gano added, "Long live Paul Robeson! Long live Woody Guthrie! It's an honor to be singing and playing on this song."
