Metro Boomin is producing the soundtrack for the upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. The album will drop on June 2, the same day the movie will arrive in theaters.

"Metro Boomin Presents Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Soundtrack From And Inspired By The Motion Picture…June 2nd I'm excited to share this album with the world!!" Metro wrote on social media.

"The concept for the next instalment of Miles' story demanded a contemporary and culturally significant musical collaborator," Spring Aspers, President Of Music at Sony Pictures, said in a statement. "Metro Boomin was clearly the perfect cultural voice to sculpt the musical environment to support this amazing next chapter."

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a sequel to the animated 2018 Marvel movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The first film's soundtrack included the smash hit song "Sunflower" by Post Malone and Swae Lee.

The track peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified diamond by RIAA. The soundtrack also featured Nicki Minaj, Juice WRLD, Lil Wayne, Vince Staples, and Aminé.

The premise of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse takes place over a year after the events of the first movie. Miles Morales (Shamiek Moore) is approached by his love interest Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) with a mission to save the Spider-People from the Spot (Jason Schwartzman).
