Olivia Rodrigo Says New Music Is 'So Close' As She Celebrates 'Sour' Two-Year Anniversary

Olivia Rodrigo has hinted that her widely-anticipated sophomore album could arrive soon, as she celebrates the two-year anniversary of Sour.

Rodrigo celebrated the second anniversary of her blockbuster debut album Sour on May 21.

"oh man oh man oh man. SOUR turns 2 years old today. no words could ever describe how much this album means to me and how insanely grateful I feel for every blessing it has brought into my life," she wrote in a post that first appeared as a hand-written note via her newsletter.

She added that her next record is close to being completed, writing, "The new stuff is so so so so so close to being done I pinky promise".

Sour was the debut studio album by Rodrigo. It was released on May 21, 2021, by Geffen Records. The album was written by Rodrigo and her producer Dan Nigro.

It topped the charts in several countries, including the Billboard 200, and was one of the best-selling albums of 2021.

Upon release, Sour received universal acclaim from critics. At the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, Sour and "Drivers License" won Best Pop Vocal Album and Pop Solo Performance, respectively; Rodrigo won Best New Artist as well.
