Taylor Swift, David Byrne & The Weeknd Invited To Join Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences

Taylor Swift, David Byrne and The Weeknd have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. They were selected in the category of musicians.

In all, 398 artists and executives, who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to motion pictures, were invited by the Academy to join the organization.

"The Academy is proud to welcome these artists and professionals into our membership. They represent extraordinary global talent across cinematic disciplines and have made a vital impact on the arts and sciences of motion pictures and on movie fans worldwide," said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang.

Eight individuals were invited to join the Academy by multiple branches.

The 2023 class of invitees also include Actors, Casting Directors, Cinematographers, Costume Designers, Directors, Executives, Film Editors, Makeup Artists and Hairstylists, Marketing and Public Relations executives, Producers, Production Designers, Writers, and talents from the field of Documentary, Production and Technology, Short Films and Feature Animation, Visual Effects, and Sound.
