New York City will formally rename the intersection of Ludlow and Rivington as "Beastie Boys Square" on September 9th, in honor of the hip-hop group.
Last July, the New York City Council approved the renaming of the southwest corner of Ludlow and Rivington as Beastie Boys Square in honor of the Paul's Boutique album artwork being photographed there.
Surviving members Mike Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) will attend the dedication ceremony, which will take place beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Paul's Boutique, Beastie Boys' second studio album, was released on July 25, 1989, by Capitol Records.
Following Adam "MCA" Yauch's passing in 2012, fans launched a campaign to rename the intersection in honor of the group.
