Shares of Sunrise New Energy Co., Ltd. (EPOW) are up 19% on Wednesday following the announcement that it had applied for two additional patents for hard carbon composite materials in September which has received interest from Tesla Inc.
EPOW is trading on the Nasdaq at $2.00, up 19.76% or $0.33 per share. It has traded between $1.55 and $5.13 in the past 52-week period.
The patents are titled 202311166138.4-2023091101651000: A Preparation Method for Metal Sulfide Doped Hard Carbon Composite Materials, and 2023111652084 -2023091101479840: A hard carbon composite material doped with antimony alloy and its preparation method.
The Company's patent portfolio now consists of a total of 50 applied patents, both domestic and international, out of which 25 have been granted.
This China-based manufacturer of graphite anode material for EVs and other lithium-ion batteries also disclosed that Tesla's Battery Raw Materials team has requested tech details, manufacturing plans, and available capacity for hard carbon products from them.
