Lauryn Hill reunited with her Fugees bandmates at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park on Saturday (September 23), surprising fans and captivating them amidst incessant rain.

Hill took the stage to join her mates to raise awareness for world hunger. Hill blazed through some of her own classics including "Doo Wop (That Thing)" and "Everything is Everything" before being joined by Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel for "Killing Me Softly," "Ready or Not," and "Fu-Gee-La."

Saturday's show was not the first time the hip-hop trio surprised fans with a joint performance. In June, they shared the stage at Philadelphia's Roots Picnic for their first reunion since a one-off New York City gig in 2021 after their original 25th anniversary tour was scrapped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fugees recently announced they would play a handful of concerts as part of Hill's tour in celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

Hill announced that she will embark on a U.S. arena tour to celebrate her solo magnum opus and will be joined by Pras and Wyclef Jean for a reunion of Fugees.

The Fugees are expected to do ten performances together this fall, starting in Newark, New Jersey, on October 17 and wrapping up November 9 in Seattle.
