Megan Thee Stallion recently released a new song, "Cobra," via Hot Girl Productions, her own independent music and entertainment entity.

The song arrived along with a Douglas Bernardt-directed music video that shows Megan crawling out of a snake's mouth, peeling off a layer of her skin, and dancing to a guitar solo.

"Just as a snake sheds his skin, we must shed our past, over and over again," Megan sings at the start. She then goes on, singing, "Breaking down and I had the whole world watching/But the worst part is really who watch me/Every night I cried/I almost died and nobody close tried to stop me."

Bankroll Got It, Derrick Milano, and Shawn "Source" Jarrett produced "Cobra."

Ahead of release of the song, Megan wrote, "Cobras exemplify courage and self-reliance. They stand tall and fierce in the face of challenges, teaching one to tap into their inner strength and rely on oneself to conquer their treats. Emulating the cobra helps one be more confident in the person they are within."

Megan, who settled a long legal battle with her former record label 1501 Certified Entertainment earlier this year, revealed on Instagram Live last month that she wasn't signed to a label anymore.
