Milpitas, California-based New India Bazar is recalling Maggi 2 Minute Noodles citing the possible presence of undeclared peanut, a known allergen, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.
The recall involves 2,400 packets of Maggi 2 Minute Noodles 280g and 1,200 packets Maggi 2 Minute Noodles 560g with lot codes 31159939CA and 4354M56.
The affected products were distributed to various New India Bazar retail stores in Santa Clara, Milpitas, Pleasanton, Dublin, Fremont and San Jose in California.
The impacted product is packed in a yellow plastic pouch and labeled with the specific name Maggie 2 Minute Noodles. The 280 grams Packaging has an expiration date of December 2023, and the packaging 560 grams has an expiration date of January 2024.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that Maggie 2-minute noodle 280 grams and 560 grams Packaging contains peanuts, and the packaging didn't reveal the presence of peanuts.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. So far, the company has not received any reports of illnesses related to the recalled product.
Consumers are urged to return the affected products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
In similar recalls, Florida-based Paradise Flavors LLC iIn mid October recalled all ice cream bars under Paradise Flavors brand for undeclared peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, milk, and color additives.
McKinney, Texas-based Cookies-N-Milk in October recalled 6oz cups of "Chocolate Chip Edible Cookie Dough" for undeclared peanuts.
