Trainline Plc (TRN.L), a British rail and coach travel platform selling tickets, on Thursday reported that its fiscal 2024 Group net ticket sales climbed 22 percent from last year and Group revenue went up 21 percent.
For the year, Group net ticket sales were 5.30 billion pounds, compared to 4.32 billion pounds, at the top end of its guidance range for growth of between 17 percent to 22 percent.
Group revenue was 397 million pounds, higher than last year's 327 million pounds, and above Trainline's guidance range of between 15 percent to 20 percent.
UK Consumer net ticket sales were 3.47 billion pounds, 23 percent higher than last year, reflecting continued rail market recovery, as well as the industry experiencing fewer strikes than in the prior year. Revenue grew 21 percent to 209 million pounds.
International Consumer net ticket sales were 1.04 billion pounds, up 14 percent, led by Spain and Italy. Revenue was 53 million pounds a growth of 17 percent.
Trainline Solutions net ticket sales climbed 31 percent from last year to 785 million pounds, and revenues increased 23 percent to 135 million pounds.
For the year, Group adjusted EBITDA is now expected to be around 2.3 percent of Group net ticket sales, above the previously stated guidance range of 2.15 percent and 2.25 percent. The upward revision primarily reflects better-than-expected revenue growth and cost discipline.
International Consumer adjusted EBITDA loss on a pre-internal transaction fee basis is still expected to approach breakeven in fiscal 2024, in line with previously stated guidance.
The company will publish its full-year results on May 3.
