argenx SE (ARGX) Wednesday said it plans to advance efgartigimod to Phase 3 study in primary Sjogren's disease (SjD), following the analysis of topline data from the Phase 2 RHO study.
Efgartigimod is marketed as Vyvgart for the treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis in more than 30 regions across the world and also to treat immune thrombocytopenia in Japan.
Sjogren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that affects the body's moisture producing glands and characterized by symptoms including dry eye and dry mouth.
Phase 2 RHO study was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of efgartigimod in adults with SjD. Multiple endpoints and biomarkers were evaluated, including the primary endpoint of CRESS (Composite of Relevant Endpoints for Sjogren's Syndrome). The company plans to present the detailed results at a future medical meeting.
