The Hong Kong stock market has moved higher in eight straight sessions, gathering more than 2,000 points or 11.8 percent along the way. The Hang Seng Index now sits just above the 18,200-point plateau and it's nonetheless tipped to open higher again on Friday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is upbeat on an improved outlook for interest rates. The European markets were mixed and the U.S. bourses were up and the Asian markets figure to follow the latter lead.
