Irish Continental 4-month Revenue Rises On Higher Volume; Stock Up

Shares of Irish Continental Group (ICGC.L) were gaining around 6 percent in the early morning trading in London after the shipping and transport company Thursday reported that consolidated revenues for the first four months of 2024 increased from last year on higher volume.

In its trading update for the year to date period to May 4, the company reported consolidated Group revenue of 177.0 million euros, an increase of 8.3 percent from 163.4 million euros a year ago.

Ferries Division's total revenues amounted to 119.7 million euros, a 12.0 percent increase on the prior year. Irish Ferries carried 153,200 cars, an increase of 21.2 percent on the previous year. Freight carryings were 262,500 RoRo units, 16.5 percent higher than the prior year.

Container and Terminal Division's total revenues dropped 1.1 percent from the prior year to 68.8 million euros. Container freight volumes shipped were 104,400 teu, an increase of 6.0 percent on the previous year.

In London, Irish Continental shares were trading at 478 pence, up 6 percent. 478.00
