Treatt PLC (TET.L), a manufacturer of natural extracts and ingredients, Tuesday posted profit before tax of 7.15 million pounds for the first half, higher than 6.63 million pounds in the comparable period last year, primarily due to lower expenses.

Excluding one-time items, adjusted profit before tax increased to 7.61 million pounds from 7.29 million pounds a year ago.

Net profit rose to 5.32 million pounds or 8.69p per share from 4.95 million pounds or 8.11p per share last year.

Adjusted profit was 5.70 million pounds or 9.32p per share, higher than 5.49 million pounds or 9.00p per share a year ago.

Revenue for the period, however, declined 5.1 percent to 72.1 million pounds from 75.95 million pounds in the previous year.

The Board has declared an interim dividend of 2.60p per share, payable on August 15 to shareholders on the register on July 5.

Looking ahead, the Board continues to expect full-year profits to be in line with its expectations.
