Arepas LA Mejor 25 Oz Bags Of Arepa De Choclo /Chocolo Recalled

Lake Worth, Florida-based Villa Nueva Interservices LLC is recalling "Arepas LA Mejor" 25 oz bags of Arepa de Choclo /Chocolo citing undeclared milk, a known allergen, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The products are packaged in 25 oz clear plastic bags with the product name, Arepas LA Mejor, with UPC Code of 8 37654 78238. The products were distributed through retail supermarkets in South Florida.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the Arepa de Chocolo contained milk and was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the milk as an ingredient.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Milk may get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. However, there have been no illnesses related to the product reported to date.

Consumers are urged to return the impacted product to the original point of purchase for a full refund or replacement.

Since the issue, the firm has made corrections to the label.
