The Hong Kong stock market on Friday wrote a finish to the two-day winning streak in which it had picked up more than 50 points or 0.3 percent. The Hang Seng Index now rests just beneath the 17,420-point plateau and it may extend its losses on Monday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is negative, with oil and technology shares likely to lead the way lower. The European and U.S. markets were down and the Asian bourses figure to follow that lead.
