Empiric Student Property H1 Profit And Revenue Climb

Empiric Student Property PLC (ESP.L), a provider of student accommodation, Thursday reported profit before tax of 24.8 million pounds for the first half compared with 24.6 million pounds in the same period a year ago.

Operating profit increased to 37.2 million pounds from 33.4 million pounds in the previous year.

Net profit was 24.8 million pounds or 4p per share, compared with 24.6 million pounds or 4.1p per share last year.

EPRA earnings were 13.6 million pounds or 2.3p per share compared with 14.1 million pounds or 2.3p per share a year ago.

Adjusted earnings were 14.5 million pounds or 2.4p per share versus 14.1 million pounds or 2.3p per share last year.

Revenue for the period grew to 42.4 million pounds from 41.3 million pounds in the prior year.

An interim dividend of 0.8725 pence per share has been declared for the second quarter. The dividend will be paid as a Property Income Distribution on September 20 to shareholders on the register on September 6.
