Intellia Therapeutics Inc. (NTLA), a clinical-stage gene editing company focused on revolutionizing medicine with CRISPR-based therapies, has several upcoming key clinical program milestones to watch in the coming months.
CRISPR, which stands for "clustered interspaced short palindromic repeats", is a technology used to edit genes.
The company's lead drug candidate is NTLA-2001, now known as nexiguran ziclumeran (nex-z), which is being developed for the treatment of Transthyretin (ATTR) Amyloidosis, caused by the accumulation of misfolded TTR protein. ATTR Amyloidosis primarily affects the nerves and/or the heart.
