Ahead of its monetary policy meeting later this month, the Federal Reserve on Wednesday released its Beige Book, a compilation of anecdotal evidence on economic conditions in each of the twelve Fed districts.
While the Beige Book said economic activity grew slightly in three districts, the number of districts that reported flat or declining activity rose from five in the prior period to nine in the current period.

Both consumer prices and producer costs have started to reflect the effect of supply shocks due to the Middle East conflict. In Europe, GDP data was in focus, while inflation data from China dominated the news flow in Asia.
