Dow, S&P 500 Reach New Record Highs Amid Interest Rate Optimism

Stocks have moved mostly higher during trading on Tuesday, with the major averages all moving to the upside following the mixed performance seen in the previous session. With the upward move, the Dow and the S&P 500 have reached new record intraday highs.

The major averages have pulled back off their best levels in recent trading but remain positive. The Dow is up 157.71 points or 0.4 percent at 41,779.79, the Nasdaq is up 130.35 points or 0.7 percent at 17,722.47 and the S&P 500 is up 27.88 points or 0.5 percent at 5,660.97.
