Softcat FY Profit Rises, But Revenue Declines; Proposes Special Dividend

Softcat plc (SCT.L), a provider of IT infrastructure products and services, Thursday reported profit before tax of 159.4 million pounds for the full year, higher than 141.86 million pounds in the previous year, primarily helped by lower cost of sales.

Operating profit increased to 154.06 million pounds from 140.9 million pounds a year ago.

Net profit was 119.04 million pounds or 59.4p per share, up from 112.03 million pounds or 56p per share last year.

Revenue for the year, however, decreased to 962.63 million pounds from 985.3 million pounds in the prior year.

Cost of sales declined to 544.88 million pounds from 611.47 million pounds.

The company's Board has recommended a final dividend of 18.1p per share, to be paid on December 17 to shareholders on the register on November 8. The company has also proposed a special dividend of 20.9p per share. If approved, this will also be paid on December 17.

For fiscal 2025, the company expects operating profit to grow in high single-digits.
