Shares of Vericel Corp. (VCEL), which gained more than 40% over the past month, hit a 52-week high of $60.16 last week.

This commercial-stage company is developing advanced therapies for sports medicine and severe burn care. It currently markets three products in the U.S. - MACI, Epicel, and NexoBrid.

MACI is an autologous cellularized scaffold product indicated for the repair of single or multiple symptomatic, full-thickness cartilage defects of the adult knee, with or without bone involvement.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
