MetaVia Announces Positive Phase 2a Clinical Data For DA-1241 In Patients With Presumed MASH

MetaVia Inc. (MTVA), Wednesday announced positive 16-week results from the two-part Phase 2a clinical trial of DA-1241 in patients with presumed metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis or MASH, a type of fatty liver disease.

During the trial, DA-1241 in combination with Sitagliptin demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in alanine transaminase. Also, it achieved multiple secondary endpoints including reductions in controlled attenuation parameters and hemoglobin A1C.

The company said that it expects to have an end of Phase 2 meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the first half of 2025.

Currently, MetaVia's stock is trading at $1.84, down 17.71 percent on the Nasdaq.
