Glaukos Delivers Eye-popping Gains In 2024, Stock At All-time High

Shares of Glaukos Corporation (GKOS) reached a 52-week high of $151.12, reflecting investor optimism surrounding the company's continued progress and innovation in ophthalmic treatments.

Glaukos is an ophthalmic medical technology and pharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative therapies for glaucoma, corneal health, and retinal diseases.

The company generates revenue primarily from sales of its iStent family of products for the management of open angle glaucomas, Photrexa, a photosensitive solution used during a procedure to treat progressive keratoconus, and associated drug formulations, and royalty income. The company also began commercializing the iDose TR product, a long-duration intracameral glaucoma therapy, in a controlled manner in February 2024.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
