Assembly Biosciences Reports Positive Interim Phase 1b Results For ABI-4334 In Chronic Hepatitis B

Assembly Biosciences, Inc. (ASMB), a biotechnology company focused on developing therapies for serious viral diseases, on Thursday announced positive interim results from its ongoing Phase 1b clinical trial evaluating ABI-4334, a next-generation capsid assembly modulator for chronic hepatitis B virus infection.

In the first cohort of the phase Ib study, participants who received a 150 mg dose of ABI-4334 once daily for 28 days showed strong antiviral activity, with a mean reduction of 2.9 log10 IU/mL in plasma HBV DNA.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
