Commercial Metals Q1 Earnings -Update

Looking ahead, Commercial Metals Company (CMC) expects a sequential decline in its second quarter financial result. Excluding items, EBITDA margin is projected to decrease sequentially on lower margins over scrap cost on steel and downstream products.  

However, the stock was trading up by 0.53 percent at $49.15 in the pre-market trade on the New York Stock Exchange.


Q1 Earnings:

Below are the Q1 earnings highlights for Commercial Metals.

Earnings: -$175.72 million in Q1 vs. $176.27 million in the same period last year.
EPS: -$1.54 in Q1 vs. $1.49 in the same period last year.
Excluding items, Commercial Metals Company reported adjusted earnings of $88.53 million or $0.78 per share for the period.

Revenue: $1.909 million in Q1 vs. $2.003 million in the same period last year.
