Fractyl Health, Inc. (GUTS), a company focused on metabolic therapeutics, on Friday announced a renewed focus on its Revita weight maintenance program and Rejuva pancreatic gene therapy platform.
To streamline operations, Fractyl will be reducing its workforce by 17%, and the move is expected to extend its cash runway into 2026.
This shift comes in response to strong patient and physician demand for durable weight maintenance solutions and positive feedback from the REVEAL-1 cohort in the REMAIN-1 pivotal study.
The company will be prioritizing the REMAIN-1 study, which evaluates weight maintenance after the discontinuation of GLP-1 drugs. Midpoint data from the study is expected in the second quarter of 2025, with full enrollment anticipated by summer 2025.
According to Fractyl Health, recruitment for the study has exceeded expectations, with over 145 patients enrolled in just five months.
As a result, Fractyl will pause its Revita programs for Type-2 Diabetes, including the REVITALIZE-1 study and the German Real-World Registry.
In addition to Revita, Fractyl will be advancing its Rejuva gene therapy program. The company has completed key preclinical studies for RJVA-001, its first gene therapy candidate, and plans to initiate first-in-human studies in the first half of 2025.
The company remains committed to transforming the treatment of obesity and metabolic diseases, with these strategic steps aimed at bringing innovative therapies to patients in need.
Currently, GUTS is trading at $1.85 down by 4.63%.
