NWF Group plc, a specialist distributor of fuel, food and feed, Tuesday reported profit before tax of 2.1 million pounds for the first half, 44.7 percent lower than 3.8 million pounds in the comparable period last year, mainly due to exceptional expenses.

Excluding one-time items, headline profit before tax increased to 3.6 million pounds from 3.4 million pounds a year ago.

Operating profit declined to 3.6 million pounds from 4.6 million pounds in the prior year, while headline operating profit was 5 million pounds, up from 4 million pounds.

Net profit decreased to 1.6 million pounds or 3.2p per share from 2.7 million pounds or 5.5p per share a year ago.

Headline earnings per share rose to 5.5p from last year's 5.1p.

Revenue for the period dropped 3.9 percent to 454.3 million pounds from 472.9 million pounds in the previous year, mainly impacted by lower oil price in Fuels.

The Board has approved an interim dividend of 1.0p per share, to be paid on May 1, to shareholders on the register on March 21.

Looking ahead, the company has confirmed its full-year outlook.
