Adecoagro S.A. (AGRO), Tuesday announced that the company has received an unsolicited non-binding proposal from Tether Investments S.A. de C.V. to acquire outstanding shares of the company at a price of $12.41 per share.
Currently, Tether owns around 19.4 percent of its outstanding shares. Upon acceptance of this proposal, Tether will hold 51 percent of the outstanding shares of the company.
Adecoagro's Board is holding meetings and evaluating the proposal with the help of financial advisors.
In the pre-market hours, Adecoagro's stock is trading at $10.67, up 8.99 percent on the New York Stock Exchange.
