Armstrong World Industries Inc. Q4 Profit Increases, Beats Estimates

Armstrong World Industries Inc. (AWI) released a profit for its fourth quarter that increased from the same period last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings came in at $62.2 million, or $1.42 per share. This compares with $46.8 million, or $1.06 per share, last year.

Excluding items, Armstrong World Industries Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $66 million or $1.50 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.38 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the period rose 17.7% to $367.7 million from $312.3 million last year.
