Avista Corp. Bottom Line Retreats In Q4, Misses Estimates

Avista Corp. (AVA) announced a profit for fourth quarter that decreased from the same period last year and missed the Street estimates.

The company's bottom line totaled $67 million, or $0.84 per share. This compares with $84 million, or $1.08 per share, last year.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $0.87 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the period rose 2.6% to $517 million from $504 million last year.
