Acumen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ABOS), on Wednesday announced the completion of enrollment in its Phase 2 clinical trial, ALTITUDE-AD, evaluating its investigational drug, sabirnetug or ACU193, in patients with early Alzheimer's disease.

The trial, which enrolled 542 participants, was completed ahead of schedule. Acumen expects to report topline results, including efficacy and safety data, in late 2026.

Sabirnetug, a humanized monoclonal antibody, targets soluble amyloid beta oligomers or AßOs, a toxic form of amyloid beta believed to be an early cause of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease.

Previous Phase 1 trials showed promising results, including significant amyloid plaque reduction and good safety profiles.

ALTITUDE-AD is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial designed to assess the efficacy of sabirnetug in slowing cognitive and functional decline in early Alzheimer's disease patients.

The results from this trial could pave the way for the development of a next-generation Alzheimer's treatment.

Currently, ABOS is trading at $1.17 down by 1.68 percent on the Nasdaq.
