Lexeo Soars On Data From Friedreich Ataxia Cardiomyopathy Trials

Shares of Lexeo Therapeutics Inc. (LXEO) are up over 20% at $2.81 in premarket trading Monday, following positive interim data for LX2006 in Friedreich ataxia cardiomyopathy from the SUNRISE-FA trial and the Weill Cornell Medicine investigator-initiated study.

LX2006 is an AAV-based gene therapy candidate for the treatment of Friedreich ataxia (FA) cardiomyopathy, the leading cause of death in individuals with FA affecting approximately 5,000 people in the United States. Friedreich ataxia, a rare inherited condition that affects the nervous system, is caused by a mutation in FXN, a gene that provides instructions for making the mitochondrial protein frataxin.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
