Shares of Christie Group Plc (CTG.L) were gaining around 16 percent in the morning trading on Monday after the company reported a profit in fiscal 2024, compared to prior year's loss, helped mainly by strong performance in the second half of the year. The company also lifted its final dividend for the year. In fiscal 2024, the company posted pre-tax profit of 462 thousand pounds, compared to a pre-tax loss of 4.28 million pounds a year ago.
The company's total profit for the year came in at 2.01 million pounds, compared to a loss of 3.80 million pounds last year. Earnings per share were 7.73 pence, compared to loss of 14.79 pence a year ago.
Profit per share from continuing operations was 4.40 pence, compared to a loss of 9.33 pence per share last year. Annual revenues climbed to 71.52 million pounds from 65.87 million pounds in fiscal 2023.
Revenue from continuing operations were 60.39 million pounds, a 15.4% growth from 2023. Further, the company said that it is recommending a final dividend of 1.75 pence per share, higher than last year's 0.50 pence per share, to be approved at our AGM on June 12. The final dividend will be paid on July 11 to those shareholders on the register on June 13.
The total dividend for the year would be 2.25 pence per share, higher than last year's 1.00 pence per share. Looking ahead, Christie Group said that the Group is well positioned for an improved performance in 2025 with opportunities for growth across all business sectors in the UK and internationally.
Christie Group added, "The Group remains cautious given the increased tax burdens on our clients, potential impact of the US government approach to international trade and current geopolitical events. However, the year has begun encouragingly and we are confident that the Group is well prepared to deliver on our current plans for the medium to longer term, in our ability to navigate the challenges ahead and to continue to deliver improving value to our stakeholders." On the LSE, the stock is currently trading at 99.00 pence. up 16 percent.
