Former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth, who gave his first full public performance in five years last Saturday at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland, has announced that he will go on a summer tour of the U.S. this year.
"We've reached the end of my first retirement. How many retirements did Rocky have? Nine? See you on the road!" the rock star told the audience at the M3 Rock Festival, hinting that more shows were coming.
Roth had announced his retirement in late 2021 with a "career-ending residency" at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. However, after the cancellation of the tour due to COVID, Roth gave Fox News a cryptic tease about not actually retiring.
"There's always a tomorrow for a singer. Not so much for a trombone player these days, okay?" he said. "How many times did Rocky retire? Seven. I think number three was my favorite. How many times did Rambo have to come out of retirement in order to make the sequel?"
Roth's 21-date trek is set to commence on July 22nd with a show at California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles. The final concert of the tour is scheduled to take place in Napa, California, on September 14th.
