Rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has reportedly been cast as Balrog in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, Legendary Entertainment's feature adaptation of the Capcom video game.
Jason Momoa and Noah Centineo will play Blanka and Ken, respectively, while country star Orville Peck has been cast as Vega.
Joe Anoa'i, aka WWE superstar Roman Reign, and martial artist-actor Andrew Koji, are on the roll call as battler Akuma and lead character Ryu, respectively. Callina Liang is playing Chun-Li.
Balrog, a disgraced boxer, is also the bodyguard of the villain. According to reports, 50 Cent, who is in training for the part, will be doing his own stunts for the movie.
Kitao Sakurai is the director of the film, which is being co-developed and co-produced by Legendary alongside Capcom.
The "Street Fighter" game, which was launched in 1987, reached a pop culture high with 1991's "Street Fighter II," which revolutionized one-on-one playing. "Street Fighter 6," the latest game in the franchise, was released in June 2023 and won the award for best fighting game at the 2023 Game Awards.
