Aker BP ASA (AKRBP.OL) on Tuesday reported a loss in its second quarter, compared to a profit last year. Quarterly results were impacted by lower total income and lesser production volume. Further, the company lifted its production outlook for the year ahead.

The Norway-based oil exploration and development company reported loss of $324 million or $0.51 per share in the second quarter, compared to profit of $561 million or $0.89 per share in the year-ago quarter.

The company's EBITDA for the period was $2.22 billion, down from $2.97 billion in the previous-year quarter.

During the second quarter, total income declined to $2.58 billion from $3.38 billion last year.

Aker BP said that net petroleum production fell to 415.0 mboepd from 444.1 mboepd in the same period of 2024, affected mainly by scheduled maintenance activities.

Looking ahead, for fiscal 2025, the company raised its production outlook to between 400 to 420 mboepd from the earlier expected 390-420 mboepd.

Aker BP said that it will pay the third-quarter dividend of $0.63 per share on or about July 28. The Aker BP shares will trade ex-dividend on July 18, the company added.
