McEwen Mining Stock Jumps 20% On Gold Pre-Payment News

McEwen Inc. (MUX) surged 20.40 percent to $13.91 on Tuesday, adding $2.36 after Inventus Mining, a company associated with McEwen, announced it had received a pre-payment for a portion of estimated recoverable gold from its 007 North bulk sample at the Pardo Gold Project in Ontario.

The stock opened at $12.60 and traded between $12.51 and $13.94, compared with a previous close of $11.55 on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume reached 4.86 million shares, sharply higher than the average of 930,687.

McEwen now sits at the top of its 52-week range of $6.38 to $13.94, boosted by the gold pre-payment development.
