Genus Annual Profit, Revenue Up; Sees Full-year Outlook In-line With Market Expectations

Genus Plc (GNS.L) Thursday reported profit before tax of 28.5 million pounds for the full year, higher than 5.5 million pounds for the previous year.

Excluding one-time items, adjusted profit before tax increased 24% to 74.3 million pounds form 59.8 million pounds last year.

Operating profit was 42.4 million pounds, down from 6.4 million pounds a year ago, while adjusted operating profit rose to 81.1 million pounds from 67 million pounds.

Adjusted operating profit including joint ventures was 93.1 million pounds, a 30% increase in constant currency.

Net profit increased to 19.3 million pounds or 28.9p per share from 7.9 million pounds or 11.9p per share a year ago. Adjusted EPS was 80.6p, up from 65p a year ago.

Revenue for the quarter grew 1% to 672.8 million pounds from 668.8 million pounds in the previous year.

The Board has recommended a final dividend of 21.7p per share, to be paid on December 5 to shareholders of record on November 7.

For the full year, the Board expects adjusted profit before tax to be in line with current market expectations.
