Tullow Oil plc (TLW.L) announced the appointment of Ian Perks as its new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the role and join the Board on 15 September 2025. Following this appointment, Richard Miller—currently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer—will return to his position as Chief Financial Officer.
Ian has over 30 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas business and has worked extensively in Africa and other international locations. He has held senior roles at BG Group, Anadarko and Total covering all aspects of the industry. Prior to Anadarko, He led numerous divisions of BG Group.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
