U.S. Dollar Rises As Traders Focus On U.S. CPI Data

The U.S. dollar strengthened against other major currencies in the Asian session on Thursday, as traders await the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) for August, which is scheduled for release later today.

Consensus estimate show that the headline CPI likely rose 2.9 percent from a year earlier, the fastest pace since January, while the core measure likely held at 3.1 percent.
